Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 1, 2026

This page explains, in plain English, what information is collected when you visit GoalPublic (goalpublic.com) and what you can do about it.

The short version

  • GoalPublic has no accounts, no newsletter, no comments and no forms. We don't ask you for your name, email or any other personal details.
  • We use Google Analytics to count visits and Google AdSense to show ads. Both use cookies and similar technologies.
  • Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs.
  • Some images and logos load directly from news publishers and ESPN.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found us. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, the time spent on them, your approximate location (derived from your IP address), your device and browser type, and the site that referred you. We use this only in aggregate to improve the site.

You can stop Google Analytics from collecting data about you by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. You can also learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

GoalPublic uses Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, measure them and limit how often you see the same one. These cookies may be used to show personalized ads based on your visits to this and other websites.

You can:

If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will be less tailored to you.

Cookies

GoalPublic itself does not set its own cookies. The cookies used on the site come from Google Analytics and Google AdSense, described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work without them.

Server logs (Vercel)

GoalPublic is hosted by Vercel. Like most web hosts, Vercel automatically records basic technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, and your browser's user agent. These logs are used to run, secure and troubleshoot the site.

Images and logos from other sites

Some images on GoalPublic, such as headline thumbnails and team crests, load directly from the servers of news publishers (BBC Sport, The Guardian, Sky Sports) and ESPN. When your browser loads them, those companies can receive standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type, under their own privacy policies.

Links to other sites

Most of our stories link to articles on other websites. Once you leave GoalPublic, the other site's privacy policy applies, and we aren't responsible for its practices.

Children

GoalPublic is a general-audience news site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles information, we will update this page and the effective date at the top.
