About GoalPublic

GoalPublic is a football (soccer) news site based in the United States. We bring together the day's headlines, live scores and league tables from around the game in one place.

Where we started

GoalPublic was founded in 2021 by Aveek Chaudhuri, who wrote the site's original articles. That first run covered some of the biggest stories of the period, including Lionel Messi leaving Barcelona and signing for Paris Saint-Germain, Cristiano Ronaldo's return to Manchester United, and Chelsea's 2021 Champions League win.

The site went quiet in 2022. Those original 2021–22 articles are preserved, unchanged, in the GoalPublic archive.

The relaunch

GoalPublic relaunched in late October 2026 with a new focus: a fast, clean place to follow the news as it happens.

How our coverage works

  • Headlines are pulled automatically throughout the day from BBC Sport, The Guardian, Sky Sports and ESPN.
  • Scores, fixtures and tables come from ESPN.
  • Summaries: for BBC Sport, Guardian and Sky Sports stories, GoalPublic publishes short summaries written with AI (Anthropic's Claude) from the source article. They use only facts that appear in the source, and every one credits and links to the original publisher.
  • Straight links: ESPN stories, live blogs and videos link directly to the original source.
  • Images: our story pages use GoalPublic branded graphics rather than publishers' photos.

The full details, including the limits of AI summaries and how we handle corrections, are in our editorial policy.
