Manchester City have done it. For the first time in history, they are going to the Champions League final. After defeating Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 on Tuesday, they sealed their spot in the final with a 4-1 aggregate win.

Manchester City absolutely dominated PSG, giving everything they had. City had a total of 12 shots with a solid 5 on target. Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino’s men had a total of 14 shots, failing to hit the target even once.

The main man on the night was Riyad Mahrez who scored both of City’s goals. He registered his first in the 11’ minute, pouncing on the ball in the box after a De Bruyne shot was blocked. His second came in the second half at the 63’ minute mark, assisted by the young star Phil Foden off a counter-attack.

But as great as City’s offense was, their defense was arguably even better, most notably Ruben Dias. City’s recent signing was an absolute wall, taking body shot after body shot and stopping all PSG threats. Dias, along with the likes of John Stones, Kyle Walker, and Oleksandr Zinchenko totally shut down Neymar and co. They constantly closed down on the PSG attackers and worked as a solid unit for the entirety of the game.

Now, Manchester City have the chance to bring home their first Champions League trophy. After being stopped at the quarter-finals three years straight, they have finally overcome their Champions League obstacles and are into the final. And this game will mean much for City manager Pep Guardiola, him returning to the final for the first time since 2011, back when he won the competition with Barcelona. Both City and Pep Guardiola have had their struggles in the Champions League but now, they only have one thing on their mind: bringing the trophy back to Manchester. They will face either Chelsea or Real Madrid in the final.
