The rumours about Cristiano Ronaldo’s future have dominated the football world recently. After Juventus’s Champions League exit to Porto, the speculations about Ronaldo leaving have arisen again. And of course, that one rumour is the most widespread. The speculation that Cristiano Ronaldo is returning to Real Madrid.

Ronaldo joined Juventus to win the Champions League. And with Juve’s consecutive failures, where better than to join back his old team where he won Europe’s top competition four times. And surely fans would love a Messi-Ronaldo reunion in La Liga, assuming Messi remains a Barcelona player after this season.

But sadly, it does not seem that a return for Ronaldo will be happening as Real Madrid look set on planning for the future. Madrid have their eyes set on the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland. Instead of looking to bring Ronaldo, they look to bring the new versions of him.

Thus, the question about Ronaldo’s future remains. It doesn’t look like Ronaldo will be staying at Turin. And it’s also well known that Juventus are struggling with his wages, the club being hit hard financially during the COVID-19 pandemic. So, as the season comes to an end, clubs and fans around the world will be watching to see where the legend goes. But his final destination probably won't be Real Madrid.
