Chelsea celebrating

Thomas Tuchel officially got his first win as Chelsea manager after Chelsea defeated Burnley 2-0 on Sunday. With goals from César Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso, Chelsea easily took care of business against Burnley. This result sees Chelsea go back to 7th place in the league standings with 33 points and sees Chelsea's first win after the sacking of manager Frank Lampard.

Chelsea were clearly the superior team on the day as they dominated the game, attempting 19 shots with a solid 8 on target. They maintained 72% of the possession, limiting Burnley's opportunities who as a result, only mustered 1 shot all game that wasn't even on target. Burnley were simply outmatched and outclassed as Chelsea took an easy win and 3 points to keep their small title-challenge still alive.

The introduction of Thomas Tuchel has been great for some of Chelsea's stars, mostly Callum Hudson-Odoi and Jorginho who have started both of Tuchel's games after barely finding minutes as a part of Lampard's team. And they have repaid Tuchel with very solid performances in both games, with Hudson-Odoi even getting the assist to the first goal against Burnley. As a result of their contributions, Chelsea's attacking output has significantly increased. In Tuchel's first game against Wolves, Chelsea fired 14 shots with 4 on target. And as mentioned before, today Chelsea attempted 19 with 8 on target. So in Tuchel's first two games, Chelsea have shot at goal a total of 33 times, with an astounding 14 on target. With this current form, Chelsea could be putting the league on notice.
