Although Liverpool had a dip in form over 3 games, they came back strong with a solid 3-1 win over Tottenham Hotspurs on January 28th. Goals from Roberto Firmino, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Sadio Mané gave the Reds a comfortable win. This win saw them go back into fourth place ahead of West Ham and within 3 points of Manchester United. This must needed win keeps Liverpool firmly in the amazing title race the Premier League has been giving fans all season long.

Liverpool dominated the game with 14 shots and 7 on target. In comparison, Tottenham only had 3 shots all game, with 2 being on target. Although Jose Mourinho is known to play more defensive tactics against strong teams, Liverpool was still able to get through that defense and pepper Hugo Lloris's goal with shots. Although possession between the teams was relatively equal, Liverpool clearly made the most with the time they had the ball.

Although Liverpool haven't been the unstoppable force they were last season, this game showed that they can't be counted out still. And it still has to be remembered that the Reds are a center back short, with Jordan Henderson filling the spot of star Virigil Van Dijk. Hence, Liverpool have been dealing with their injury problems but nevertheless, they are still a force to be reckoned with a team of superstars. Now it has to be seen whether Liverpool can catch up to the other Premier League heavyweight, Manchester City, at the top of the table.
