Sunday's 3-1 win over Valencia saw Atletico Madrid continue their stellar season in La Liga. Goals from João Félix, Luis Suárez, and Angel Correa gave Atleti a comfortable win over Valencia. The solid performance saw Los Rojiblancos go seven points clear at the top of the table from second-place Real Madrid. And Atleti have a game in hand, having played 18 while Real Madrid(2nd), Barcelona(3rd), and Sevilla(4th) all played 19. Thus, Diego Simeone's men have the chance to go 10 points clear later when their missed game is made up.

Atletico Madrid has had a great start in both their offensive and defensive aspects. Their offense has scored a total of 36 goals this season so far, with summer signing Luis Suárez leading the team and league with 12 goals (tied with Youssef En-Nesyri of Sevilla). Creativity hasn't been a problem either with Atleti having 3 players who all have registered 5 assists in the league so far, ranking them second to Iago Aspas of Celta Vigo with his 6 assists. Angel Correa, Kieran Trippier, and Marcos Llorente all have 5 to their names.

Along with their offensive power, their defense has been the best in the league with only 8 goals conceded. José María Giménez, Stefan Savić, Mario Hermoso, and Felipe have been leading the defense, keeping 11 clean sheets in the league. Atletico Madrid is famous for their impenetrable defense and the four stars are showing exactly why. With their current form, it looks likely that Atletico Madrid will be crowned 2020/21 La Liga Champions.
